On this full day chauffeured private experience, you will tour one of the oldest bourbon distilleries in Kentucky, travel back in time to the beginning of bourbon-making, and visit the most historic spirits site in America.
Old Pogue Distillery
Old Pogue has a history dating back to the years following the Civil War. In 1876, the original Pogue distillery (Kentucky registered distillery No. 3) was established in Maysville, very near a site often said to be the location of Kentucky’s first bourbon distillery. Today the bourbon-making tradition is carried forward by fifth and sixth generation Pogues using the original Pogue recipes under a time-honored and fixed formula to create super-premium handcrafted whiskies.
Old Pogue Experience at the Kentucky Gateway Museum
Learn more about the impact the Pogue family had on the history of bourbon with the Old Pogue Experience at the Kentucky Gateway Museum. This tour takes visitors back in time to the heyday of bourbon making in Maysville, all while enjoying a famous Bourbon Slush.
Baker-Bird Distillery & Winery
The Baker-Bird site is the most historic spirits site in America. The distiller, John Baker, fought in the American Revolution and began to distill bourbon during the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794. Today, the Baker-Bird Wine Cellar is the largest, oldest wine cellar in America and only winery to have survived a Civil War Battle. The Baker-Bird Winery is “Home of Bourbon Barrel Aged Wines” as well as offers many other internationally acclaimed wines and historic B. Bird Bourbon.
