The PGA Championship is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. It is one of the four men’s major championships in professional golf.
In line with the other majors, winning the PGA gains privileges that improve career security. PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship) and The Players Championship for the next five years.
The iconic Wanamaker Trophy (named after businessman and golfer Rodman Wanamaker) is awarded to the winner of the PGA Championship, and stands nearly 2.5 feet tall and weighs 27 pounds.
In 2024, the event will be played at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Remarkable in its history, Valhalla is where the greats of the game have played. Valhalla has been home to the 2008 Ryder Cup, three PGA Championships in 1996, 2000 and 2014 plus two Senior PGA Championships in 2004 and 2011. The prestigious course has established itself as one of golf’s most storied venues.
