The PGA Championship is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. It is one of the four men’s major championships in professional golf.
In line with the other majors, winning the PGA gains privileges that improve career security. PGA champions are automatically invited to play in the other three majors (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship) and The Players Championship for the next five years.
The iconic Wanamaker Trophy (named after businessman and golfer Rodman Wanamaker) is awarded to the winner of the PGA Championship, and stands nearly 2.5 feet tall and weighs 27 pounds.
Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco was custom-engineered from its inception by architect Gil Hanse specifically to host elite major championships, serving as the battleground for the 2027 and 2034 PGA Championships. Carved directly into the North Texas landscape, it is designed to test the limits of modern professional golf through its extreme length and demanding strategic requirements.
