One creative way to raise more money at your event is to utilize the timing of your fundraiser and the momentum of an event-based experience.
For example, the AFC and NFC Football Championships are set for Sunday: Cincinnati Bengals [whodey!] vs. Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers vs Philadelphia Eagles. If you live in Cincy, KC, SF, Philly or surrounding areas and you have an event Thursday or Friday this week – you could offer playoff tickets and excite your donors!
A client in Kansas City used this energy last year and is repeating it Thursday night. The Chiefs host the AFC Championship again at Arrowhead Stadium. Last year they sold (4) lower level playoff tickets 3x in their event. Just think if your team makes the Super Bowl in a few weeks?
Not only is the Super Bowl in Phoenix this year, it’s also at the same time as the WM Phoenix Open golf tournament! We have a 16th Hole Skybox Suite for Saturday & Sunday with a handful of tickets left.
How do we have access to these events? We have our own ticket portal [similar to Stubhub or Ticketmaster] that fuels our experience packages.
Fast forward to May 6, 2023 and your donors just watched the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” on TV. Several organizations are using our Kentucky Derby package in events May 12 and 13. Why? Derby just happened and now they can see this bucket-list experience live in 2024. Momentum matters in sports AND in fundraising.
CMAs, Augusta, US Open and many other experiences can be utilized based on timing of your event.
