Banquets & Award Dinners for Police & Fire Foundations

How no-risk travel and experience packages fit into your banquet or award dinner, backed by local businesses and built for volunteers running the event.

Banquet hall filled with guests at round tables

At a police or fire foundation banquet, one or two big experiences in the live auction can change the whole night. Bourbon Trail packages, major sports and entertainment events, and golf and fishing excursions sell in these rooms. Your crowd responds to items that feel like a rare opportunity, not a generic getaway. A live auction with a serious trip raises money fast without dragging out the program. You set the starting bid 15 to 20 percent above cost, so you make money from the first bid. If the room gets excited, you can sell the same package more than once.

Your event is different because it is run by officers and firefighters who volunteer their own time. They are not event professionals. That means the auction needs to be simple to explain and easy to execute. Your audience includes local business owners and community members who show up to support the mission, not to buy luxury goods. They bid on experiences that match their interests: sports, outdoors, and well-known events. The venue is often a smaller room, so you need items that make a big impact in a short time.

There is no cost to reserve an experience. You browse over 140 options, pick what fits your crowd, and get marketing materials right away. You only pay for an experience if it sells, keep 100 percent over the cost, and can sell experiences multiple times if the bidding gets hot. You are not too late: items can be added the same day as your event. How many you use depends on your audience size, and help is available to fine tune that number.

From start to finish, it works like this. You choose experiences that match what your crowd buys, using a one-page PDF display with photos and details. You receive a marketing email with tips for promoting the items before and after the event. At the banquet, you auction the travel certificates. Afterward, you send the winners’ information to the Travel Team, and they handle booking. Winners have up to two years to travel for non event-based trips. Event-based experiences like the Kentucky Derby or US Open are for that year’s event.

When the night ends, your foundation has new funds for equipment or family support programs. The auction added energy to the room without extra risk or upfront spending. Your volunteers handled it like pros, and the winners are excited to plan their trips.
