Rotary, Lions, Civic Clubs & Chambers of Commerce · Golf Outings

Will our members bid on a big trip?

For Rotary, Lions, civic clubs, and Chambers of Commerce running golf outings, here’s why a travel package works in a smaller room.

Sound familiar?A golf outing chair looks at a trip package and thinks: our room has 60 people, not 600. Will anyone bid? In a room where every member is a local business owner, relationships move fast, but paddles seem scarce. For years, the same baskets and gift certificates have filled the auction tables.

Smaller crowds at a Rotary, Lions, civic club, or Chamber golf outing don’t mean nobody wants to travel. Every member is a business person who already takes trips. A Napa wine weekend, Country Music Awards tickets, or a Belize getaway is the kind of thing they bid on. You need two interested people, not a ballroom full of paddles. Mobile bidding can even open the auction to people not in the room.

You only pay for an experience if it sells, keep 100% over the cost, and can sell experiences multiple times if the bidding gets hot. You are not too late: items can be added the same day as your event. Reserve a trip for free, get a display sheet and marketing email, and set a starting bid 15-20% above cost. If it doesn’t sell, you owe nothing for that experience.

Browse over 140 travel and experience options from Giveback XP. Look for what fits your crowd: regional sporting events, wine trips, or CMA tickets often move in these rooms. Reserve what you like, get the marketing materials, and add it to your auction. After the event, send the winners’ details and the Travel Team handles the booking.

Your golf outing now has a real trip on the table. Two members get excited and start bidding, the room sees something different, and the club makes money without risk. Winners plan their travel, the committee wraps up, and next year’s event starts with a little less worry.
