Grandfather Mountain
Grandfather Mountain is a place of amazing biodiversity and scenic beauty that towers 5,946 feet above northwest North Carolina. Guests of the Grandfather Mountain Nature Park can access native wildlife exhibits, the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery, hiking trails and the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge that connects two peaks at one mile above sea level. The primary allure is the exhilarating feeling of being on top of the world while looking out across views of mountain ridge after mountain ridge cascading to the horizon.
Tweetsie Railroad
Tweetsie Railroad is a family-oriented Wild West theme park located between Boone and Blowing Rock, NC. The centerpiece of the park is a 3-mile ride on a train pulled by one of Tweetsie Railroad’s two historic narrow-gauge steam locomotives. Daily admission to Tweetsie includes a full day of family fun with a ride-behind one of our historic narrow gauge steam locomotives, live Wild West-themed entertainment, the Deer Park Zoo, classic amusement rides, and panning for gold.
